Laura Cantrell Fopps out in Glasgow

One of the bright lights of new Americana, Laura Cantrell, will be making an in-store appearance at Fopp Glasgow this July. Thursday the 28th of July will see her playing an acoustic set at the Fopp store on Union Street at one o’ clock

Laura Cantrell was born and raised in Nashville, TN and burst onto the international music scene in 2000 with a debut album that showcased her affecting vocals, literate songwriting, and superb taste in musicians and fellow songwriters. Her Fopp appearance will support the release of her third full length album 'Humming by the Flowered Vine'. Laura's talents have not gone unnoticed – she can count as fans Elvis Costello (who she toured Europe and the US with) and the late John Peel, who described her last album as one of his favourite records of the last ten years

Fopp In-stores have become something of an institution; Laura will be following in the footsteps of Franz Ferdinand, The Rapture and The Magic Numbers who have all played at Fopp stores in recent years.
