Glasswerk London Editor Alex MacHorton rounds up recent eventsand previews exciting nights aheadHowdy doody good Glasswerking folk. I was planning on a really constructive afternoon outdoors today. Mow the lawn, murder a few weeds, wash the car etc, all the things I keep saying I’ll do but never get round to doing. But then it started peeing down outside and well.. whats the point in washing your car when it’s raining. So I didn’t. Instead I checked my 2,564 new emails since last night, ranging from VIAGRA!!!!!!! to bands cancelling gigs (yes you know who you are ), from the odd really exciting one that made me remember why I do this editor malarchy, back full circle to YOU HAVE WON SWISS LOTTERY!!!!

But as exciting as all that seemed, really I was just delaying the obvious. Time for another Glasswerk update (which in case you hadn’t realised is this). The last gig was really buzzing with Crash Convention and corporation:blend flying round the stage (see here: link ) and the next few could be even better. Look at this:

Thurs Oct 28th Turnmills: Iodine, GU Medicine, Kubrick, My Pet Junkie

Weds Nov 3rd Upstairs at Garage: Charakka, Primary, Raising Sand, Year Zero

Next Thursday showcases some of Glasswerk’s most exciting talent. Overdrawn are turning heads wherever they play right now, while Iconoclast are here to keep the Glasswerk (North) flag flying high and proud. Be sure to catch Active M and Civilian –both have great live shows.

The following week will really have you rocking out. Kerrang! And Metal Hammer faves GU Medicine are on tour, with Kubrick in support. Iodine meanwhile are led by Kerrang! Editor Ashley Bird. Great for the other bands who will technically be showcasing to him, unless he’s in the pub. My Pet Junkie complete the line-up having proved their capabilities recently with their album launch at The Garage.

Glasswerk has 5 pairs of tickets to give away to this gig. All you have to do to stand a chance is send an email to mail with the header SHOW ME THE MEDICINE!

Finally, and this is really exciting, plans are being finalised for a Glasswerk London festival Upstairs at the Garage for most of the week February 15-18. With top name backing and radio support this will be THE event of the new year to be on.
