PSYCHO-PATH TO THE GARAGE THURS 23/9

Not only has Glasswerk London put on bands from all over the UK in its ever popular nights Upstairs @ The Garage, but it has flown in Italian rock band ‘The Teachers’ for a gig and discovered indie band ‘The Puzzle’ from the depths of Hungary. Now, music lovers, Glasswerk is proud to present you the latest in its out-of-town bands – Slovenian heavy rock outfit ‘Psycho-Path’.

Set-time: 10.15pm – 10.45pm
Signed to Southern Records and embarking on a UK tour later this month, Psycho-Path offer harsh but sexy vocals combined with distinctive basslines, drums and guitar riffs designed to make sure the band are not forgotten. Josh Homme, of Queens Of The Stone Age fame, names Psycho-Path as his current favourite band and he will undoubtedly be excited at the release of their third album ‘Desinvoltura’. If you need a short formula for the sound of Psycho-Path, you could say it mixes the sexy and melodic sounds of Girls Against Boys with the heavy rock riffs of Queens Of The Stone Age. The formula is then topped off with female vocals, all underpinned by an intangible industrial element.

TV Babies
Set-time: 9.35pm – 10.00pm
TV Babies have been treading the boards for the last four years, building a tight, fat foundation of all original, kick-ass sound and vision. The band’s marriage of car-crash guitar on screaming, growling and crooning vocals, the heave, groove and twang of the bass is fully consummated by juggernaut drums and finally superglued together by some bizarre, banal, cutesy, filmic and cheap tv soundtrack. Attempting to find a category for this band proved too difficult, so one had to be invented and the name ‘heavy irony’ was coined. The TV Babies are ironic, cyclonic, polyphonic, pnemonic, bionic, nu-sonic head tonic…

Project X
Set-time: 8.50pm – 9.15pm
Rock act Project X have gained a reputation as one of the most visually and aurally dynamic bands on the London scene and beyond. With an industry furore on the cards when they play Manchester's In The City festival on the weekend of 17/18/19 September, this will surely be one of the last opportunities to catch them in such an intimate venue.

Fuse
Set-time 8.10pm – 8.35pm
Fuse, based in the now buzzing New Cross scene of London, profess influences ranging from Radiohead, The Cure, Metallica and Korn. A young band with plenty of potential, Fuse offer a heavy rock sound with haunting vocals and Kirk Hammett-esque riffs.
