Friday Skive Birthday

The Friday Skive acoustic event will be celebrating it's 1st Birthday in
conjuction with clubnight Panic at The Masque Bar, Seel Street Liverpool on Friday 24th September with an extended event running from 5-11pm, entry is free before 9pm and £2 after this will include entry into the fantastic new clubnight Panic plus The Skive aftershow party. The first half of the event is a mixture of some of the pick of performers
from the past year along with some special guests who include the newly formed CRESCENT, with singer/songwriter Wayne Whitfield the only surviving member of the original line up the band are making a fresh start with new material and have already supported Smaller. Headlining the first half will be Mark Pountney from the fantastic Mojave Collective who's style of American roots music coupled with a British pop sensibility will be on display along with some new songs, there will also be appearences from The Chief Skiver Richie McGuirk who has recently been working with top producer Ken Nelson at Parr Street Studio's laying down demo's for his debut album, Scouse Cowboy Smokin Sean Butler and Barry Lawton from Crewe.

Opening up the second half of the event is Steve Kennedy who is due to
release his album “Control Freak” on Black Sheep and who has the best voice
to come out of Liverpool in the last 35 years and those are the words of
Elvis Costello who is one of many admirers of his fiery heart on sleeve
approach to songwriting. Following on from his breathtaking appearence at
the event in August we also welcome back the multi instrumental banjo man
Dom Newton who's lewd and proud material is not to be missed. And just when
you think it couldn't get any better the madness continues with Lions &
Tigers who will be performing a rare acoustic gig especially for The Skive.

There will also be one or two special guests as well as some yet to be
confirmed dj's who will also be playing a selection of local band material
at Panic.
