The Heavy F%*king Metal Feast takes place at Satans Hollow, Manchester on the last Sunday of the month.

The event aims to showcase the best, and most innovative metal bands from around the UK. No “run of the mill” metal or 80's metal – only bands that are striving to do something different.

In addition to quality music, the entry prices will be kept down to a minimum so that people can discover new talent without parting with too much cash.

The first event attracted 200 fans that actually stuck around (refreshing change!) and supported all the bands. Narcosis and Shaped By Fate were amonst the best, as well as a stunning first performance from Blackened Heart Syndrome, featuring members from Scissorfist.

This month's line-up, is no less exciting:

Aconite Thrill – link – Mights Atom's innovative
emo/hardcore signing have been described as “Glassjaw slowed down and
injected with Morphine”. Progressive dynamics and 6-string perfection make them our tip for 2004.

Idiom Lifeline – link – Preston's answer to Dillinger
Escape Plan. If Aphex Twin did metal – this is what it would sound like.

Blackened Heart Syndrome – link – featuring ex-Scissorfist members now producing fast jazzy grindcore madness. The bastard child of Converge and Cephalic Carnage.

Days of Grace – link – Aconite Thrill's touring partners,
mixing unique strains of emo and metal, are one of Steve Lamacq's tips for
2004.

The Vaccines – link – *Vman's Ones To Watch* – new St Helens
hardcore band. Influences include Converge, ENT, Poison The Well

As if that wasnt enough: drinks are only £1.50 a pint, and they serve cheap pizzas !

So get down to Satans on Feb 29th and support some quality live music !

PS – future events feature Lab Rat, Eden Maine, Jairus, Second Smile
