Cambridge indie band The Dawn Parade return to gigging on the weekend of February 20th. The band plays Ipswich Drum and Monkey on Friday 20th, and Cambridge Portland Arms the following day, Saturday 21st. These gigs will showcase a new line up expanded to include female vocals, sax breaks and keyboards. Following a series of secret gigs, The Dawn Parade's new line up
is already being described as “bigger, better and more ambitious than ever” by The Fly writer Anthony Gibbons.
These gigs come as new song “Dead Man's Hand” makes the top three Singer / Songwriter nominations in the International Songwriting Competition, the world's premier songwriting award, which annually judges between 11,000 songs from across the world. The weekend's gigs will be the first time the band have played the song, which Rolling Stone journalists Mike Krugman and
Jason Cohen have already described as “brilliant”. The Dawn Parade caused a stir in 2003 when the same column made their limited edition self release “Hole in my Heart” Single of the Year.
