Super Furry Animals also played in the USA with Grandaddy and played the Brazil Free Jazz festival in Rio in the course of 2003.
Phantom Power has been acclaimed as one of the essential releases of 2003, Q declaring it as the feel-good hit of the summer in their end of year poll whilst upon it's release praise came from all quarters:
“It's hard to think of another band working today whose albums offer the sheer breadth and invention we've come to take for granted with the Super Furry Animals.” THE INDEPENDENT
“For a band to be hitting such form six albums into a career is astonishing.” NME
“An album of hope and humour and beauty, Phantom Power is frequently as deep and mysterious as its title intimates. Feel it for yourself.” UNCUT
