The Flying Picket in Strife

A decision could be made as soon as the 22nd October, so please act now if you value the Picket's contribution to Liverpool's cultural history.

Please help save the Picket music venue and Pinball Wizard Recording Studio. The Management Committee of the Peoples Centre in Liverpool-where the Picket and Pinball are located-has decided to sell its Hardman Street building. This could mean the closure of the venue, the studio and the end of the Dry Bar gigs for 18's. This would mean a great loss to the City and have a devastating impact on its cultural facilities for the people of Liverpool.

The Picket has existed for 20 years, putting on gigs for local bands, providing recording facilities and advice for new bands, and benefit concerts for a wide range of community organisations. It's ironic that just as Liverpool has received the accolade 'European Capital of Culture' and the City appears to be striding forward, the Picket
and Pinball is threatened with closure!

The Pickets manager is urgently exploring options to help rescue the venue and studio, and have already approached many people in all walks of life, who have offered their support.
