Following her Mercury Music Prize nomination, Independiente-signed singer/songwriter Martina Topley-Bird releases ‘Anything’, the second single to be lifted from her critically acclaimed debut album, Quixotic’, on September 1st.
A stripped back, sensuous track, ‘Anything’ perfectly showcases Martina’s unique vocal style. Laid-back yet emotional, this bewitching song is set to be one of the tracks of the summer. The single features a dvd of the stunning video, directed by renowned promo maker Floria Sigismondi, and a powerful remix by Vanden Plas.
Four years in the making and featuring production credits from the likes of David Holmes (‘Too Tough To Die’) and Tricky (‘Ragga’), ‘Quixotic’ also contains string arrangements from David Arnold (Of James Bond and Bjork fame) on ‘Days Of A Gun’ and guitars by Josh Homme and backing vocals by Mark Lanegan from ‘Queens of the Stone Age’ on debut single ‘Need One’.
The acclaim for Quixotic has already been widespread:
