When a band announce that they are heading out on their biggest ever tour to date, believe us when we say that The Bluetones are about to embark on the biggest tour ever, ever. After playing a handful of low key dates shortly before Christmas, previewing some of the new material recorded for their forthcoming album, The Bluetones will quite certainly be coming to a town near you.
After the release of their acclaimed Best of album last year, and their 11th straight top 40 single, The Bluetones spent the remaining half of 2002 writing and recording new material. They are currently adding the finishing touches to their fourth, and possibly best, studio album to date. The as yet un-named album will be released around the time of the tour. It'll be preceded by a likewise un-named single.
On the 10th February the band are giving fans the opportunity to get an early taste of the album for absolutely nothing, gratis, totally free. “I Love The City” is the name of a track taken from the forthcoming album and will be available as a free download to all those registering at the new Bluetones website. The tour, the band's biggest and most ambitious to date commences Sunday the 16th March in Colchester and finishes over two month's later at the Astoria in London on Thursday 22nd May.
