PLACEBO are back to the top of the British Rock hierarchy. They release their new single 'This Picture' through Hut Recordings on June 9th. It is the second single to be lifted from their fourth album, 'Sleeping With Ghosts', which entered the UK charts at number 11 and is already pushing Gold status within a month of release. 'This Picture' is the follow up to the hit single 'The Bitter End'.
The band have just completed their first headline tour in 18 months, selling out venues across the UK including Glasgow, Manchester, The London Astoria (within an hour) and two triumphant sold out nights at the Brixton Academy. They are also confirmed as Friday's third headline act on the main stage at this year's Reading and Leeds festival.
The band have also again proved to be one of the UK's strongest exports of 2003 with worldwide sales figures of over 600,000 within 3 weeks of release with the album crashing around the top spots in all key territories including Belgium (#1), Greece (#1), France (#2) and Germany (#2).
PLACEBO are now primed for an epic world tour offensive and they will not rest until they have rocked pretty much every city in every country you can think of.
