Paying tribute to his fans with a thanks for the past 13 years, Ginuwine then goes on to praise himself with an opening scroll that refers to him as, er, a Legend. Then the album that follows sounds like what Craig David and Kanye West can do in their sleep.
The album sleeve should have been a give away. A smug suited man glaring out at you, then on the inside there he is relaxed and moody looking off camera, of course with shirt open. Oh it’s a big egotistical world that these stars live in, and yet how they managed to draw a crowd with music that is dated right back to the late 80’s/early 90’s is anyone’s guess.
There is obviously a fan base out there for shagging music. I mean booty calling music. Every other song is telling women that they are sexy, talking about their bodies, and that all he wants to do is, “Love” them. Evidence of this is in the fact that he has dedicated the album to all 9 children! I’d say the call out to Jesus Christ might have been a bit cheeky if he weren’t married.
It’s a tired and tested formula that is full of clichés and leaves very little to be inspired by. But if he has indeed be sexing his way about for 13 years then there is obviously a crowd for it.
