I’m sure this 16 year old rawk popstrel is getting fed up with the obvious comparisons she falls into, though from this offering she appears quite plausible in attitude – we are left feeling more Shampoo and a heavier Alicia’s Attic than Avril, which is a good thing!
“Fake” delivers a shouty slice of power pop perfectly grounded within it’s target audience, with enough hook and edge to appeal beyond it’s clear teen angst borders, Alex Roots could well be the real deal, keep your see and hear bits on full alert.
