Influenced by a very darkest of early 80s electronic work. Perhaps Joy Division and the Cure are obvious choices to poke fingers at, but either way Higamos Hogamos do just about manage their own tone and stylistics. Stylistics being the operative word here as each track comes replete with successive use of a variety of sounds. There is some wicked bass and guitar put to use, but its all been processed with a heavy electro feel to it all give it the kind of punk jazz it needs to sound so good.
Curiously they get more and more adventurous with their music as the album goes on. It never really lets you settle into a mood as there is always something different waiting around the next corner. No bad thing by any means, and they make it seem so effortless.
