Metric – Help I’m Alive

‘Help I’ m Alive’ is the first single off new album ‘Fantasies’ by Metric and what an introduction it is. Beginning with sublime yet understated synth that builds, in conjunction with Emily’s ethereal Mette Lindberg esque vocal, into an equally understated yet reassuring guitar-backed chorus of unimaginable charm.

If the rest of the album is anything like this we are in for a treat. ‘Help I ‘m Alive’ will grab you instantly with its accessible yet haunting melodies with Emily’s vocal stealing the show. The music does a fantastic job of supporting her instead of letting the synth’s take over. I ‘am Alive is a relaxing and essential listen if you find Tommy Sparks a little too much.
