The capitol years-Revolutions single.
It almost seems like slipping into a dream. The first few moments of ‘Revolutions’ hypnotises and then flourishes into a kind of Beach boys/Pink Floyd slow march accompanied by swirls and effects with a detached yet warm sound.
Closer maybe to Floyds Barrett era this single stays in the limbo of being not quite awake not quite asleep, with a drive and pop structure that holds the song together; and a feel that after several listens opens up like a kaleidoscope turning slowly.
It’s an interesting single as it gives away very little of what to expect and clouds the waters as to which direction The capitol years will float. ‘C.I.A’ does nothing to open up the enigmatic sound as it manically waltzes round- and it’s this difficulty to extrapolate a comparison that makes The capitol years such an interesting prospect.
This UK debut c.d does more than pique your interest it stimulates it and leads you perfectly to the album ‘Dance the terror away’ where they continue to experiment and blur simple categorization .
