‘Bye Bye Johnny’ were listed on one website as ‘one of the new and exciting acts,’ and while they find moderate excitement from the right audience, there is definitely nothing new about this music. They are a competent entry into the indie/punk field but sad think about punk is that it is increasing hard to make it sound new. Nowadays it’s all homage to the past sound. So what was once an expressive genre is now more about fitting in conforming. How very punk.
