Set in the classical Dry bar of famous Oldham street we were set to be entertained by an up and coming foursome. The impressive performances of the The antix and Manchester’s very own Syd Bozko and Warrington’s Wanders Sly digs set centre stage for the night to come. The crowd maximized when Sly Digs hit the stage with homemade harmonies and a few well represented classics. Their personal renditions of hallelujah and Strokes ‘someday’ mixed up the set and got the crowd moving. The Strokes move was very much appreciated and it was a pity that they left it at one song, since the singers Julian Casablancas vocal similarities were extremely noticeable.
Melodicas New Reed threw a different vibe into the room, bringing the people to their feet to join in to the fun loving smooth beats. The lead singers powerful and one might say unique voice quickly held the attention of the room. The original lyrics and lively performance had the crowd moving to the funky vibe . Ending on the song ‘drinking’ which was appreciated by everyone.
