‘Spaced Out Refugee’ isn’t the strongest opening song for an album. Not making much in the way of impact and coming over as very dated and tired, Simonkent might have wanted t swap a few songs around in the play order, or even just omit them completely.
Pillo isn’t derived of talent, but it is coming into an already overflowing market that that has only time for hooks or total reinvention. Pillo offers none of these. If you have ever sat in a loud bar or pub you may have heard songs like ‘Turned To Rust’ in the background. It makes an impact on your ear while you hear it, but you don’t quite find the time or effort to go ask whom it was you just heard.
A lot of artists out there like to claim they do it for the love of the material, and few admit they want the money to. But for Love or Money we can only hope that kent is doing it for the former.
