Sam Beeton comes to us with a youthful voice, fresh tunes and a musical heritage all wrapped up in marketing campaign. Thankfully, like Paolo Nutini, Duffy and Adele who have gone before, Sam Beeton has more than enough genuine talent to stand up for himself and a distinctly different sound from his teenage predecessors.
Ok so his debut single “What You Looking For” was a collaboration with Eg White who was also behind Adele’s “Chasing Pavements” and Duffy’s recent chart success “Warwick Avenue”, but it is a great inoffensive tune with a catchy little chorus.
That aside Sam Beeton was solely responsible for the rest of the content himself and if anything it is just as good as the first track. “Mocha Mocha” is a lovely little pop gem which is a possible future single and “Under The Fence” which is pop with a nice folk feel to it with a gentle but upbeat melody.
This a great little debut from Sam Beeton and with the major powers backing him he’s sure to be a feature in the charts this autumn.
