Second single to be released from The Shadow Puppets debut album ‘The Age of the Understatement’, and another very simple but quite effective sweeping ditty. With Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner and partner in crime Miles Kane frontman from The Rascals the vocals are both similar and familiar however the musical style is not and therefore slightly off-the-wall, although making this collaboration for me far more interesting than the first. Combining some of the Sixties resonance and charm with melancholy vocals and delicate strings, creating the feel to a very grand production, although keeping it cut rather short.
While any association with Alex Turner will surely always prove some success, as to whether or not The Shadow Puppets have what it takes to overtake the Monkeys achievements is still to be seen, maybe not with this single anyway.
