Bryn Christopher – The Quest

Another Winehouse-style soulful vocalist, but this time it’s a guy. Not that you could be sure on the first listen, though, as Bryn Christopher has more than a touch of femininity to his voice. Not in a whiny, Justin Timberlake way, however. Rather, Bryn sings like the Amys, Adeles and Duffys of this world.

Although this is not my cup of tea, the success of the aforementioned artistes suggest there is a huge market for this brand of soulful, powerful vocals set against a specific brass-heavy instrumental backdrop. Seeing as this brand has been almost exclusively the domain of young female stars, Bryn’s gender may provide that ‘something different’ which will help him go far.
