The first rule of being a singer-songwriter is learn to sing. The second is learn to write decent songs. Daniel Schaumann hasn’t just failed on both counts, but he’s failed badly.
This is the sort of music you would listen to if you consider Jack Johnson to be too edgy, or if Ben Gibbard isn’t whiny enough for you. This is so bad I’m embarrassed for Daniel when I hear him sing – I’ll go as far as saying it’s too bland even to be background music.
With music so weak it’s impossible to resist a cheap shot at the song’s title – just ten seconds of this is more than I can handle.
