Operator Please – Yes Yes Vindictive

Opening with the punchy ‘Zero Zero’, ‘Yes Yes Vindictive’ is the brand new album from Operator Please.

It’s so hard for female leads to sound different these days, and bring something to music that’s innovative and fresh. Still though, Operator Please have a go and whilst they my not ever be up there with the female greats or mixed bands they still offer a little something to wet your appetite, even if they do have song titles like ‘Just a Song About Ping Pong’ and ‘Pantomime’.

Until ‘Two For My Seconds’ the album takes on the approach of attack with dominant, loud pop rock. ‘Two For My Seconds’ slows down the pace and is most likely the best song on the album along with ‘6/8’.

On the whole this isn’t a bad first attempt at an album but it isn’t anything that truly gets to you, that grabs a hold of u and says ‘I am the best pop album of 2008’ despite what they or their website says.
