Independent Label Market Advent Calendar & Christmas Raffle for Crisis

Indie Label Market announces Countdown to Christmas with the ILM Advent Calendar. Launching Tuesday 1^st December 2020, Indie Label Market will spotlight an outstanding UK independent label each day for the 24 days of Christmas. This means a roll out of festive audio adventures across ILM social platforms of Twitter, Facebook and Instagram with exclusive artist and label mixtapes, vinyl only mixes, festive discount codes and flash sales: the digital equivalent of an all twinkling Christmas house light display.  Keep your eyes peeled on the ILM socials for the big reveals!

Labels taking part in the ILM Advent Calendar include XL, 4AD, Young Turks, Ninja Tune, Fire, Erased Tapes, Heavenly, Hospital, Secretly Canadian, PIAS, Partisan, Mexican Summer,  Ignition Records and associated labels Big Brother Recordings and Sour Mash, One Little Independent, Cherry Red, LEX, Lucky Number, Memphis Industries, Sonic Cathedral, Batty Bass, Be With, Clue, Deep Medi, Dead Oceans, Far Out, Jagjaguwar, Sad Club, Swing Ting, and The Leaf Label.  

Also for winter 2020, ILM is happy to announce the ILM Christmas Raffle in support of Crisis.

An initiative that sees ILM joining forces with its favorite independent labels to support the outstanding work of the national charity for homeless people, Crisis. Crisis offers a place to stay to all the people in need this winter, as well as emotional support and wellbeing, hot food and a little festive spirit.

Prizes include: 

– A signed test pressing of ‘Ultra Mono’, the third studio album of Bristol Punk outfit IDLES, out this autumn (Partisan)

– A signed Cate Le Bon test pressing and long sleeve t-shirt

– 3 extremely rare vinyl test pressings The National: ‘The National’, ‘Sad Songs For Dirty Lovers’ and the ‘Cherry Tree’ EP, all out of print, due for reissue next February (4AD) 

– A surprise 2 track 7″ vinyl from Brooklyn quartet Big Thief. Never available in shops, it has only ever been mailed to UK buyers of the band’s critically acclaimed U.F.O.F album from 2019 (4AD)

– Deluxe Box Set of Radiohead – OK Computer OKNOTOK 1997 2017. Includes 12″ vinyl LPs, B sides, artwork, sketchbooks, a C90 cassette mix tape Pitchfork 10/10  (XL Recordings)

– Björk – Vulnicura Live. Rare Vinyl Picture Disc Limited Edition. 13-track double picture disc LP (2015) issued in collaboration with Rough Trade Stores (One Little Independent)

With close to one hundred items in the mix ~ 7″, 12″ vinyl bundles, signed merch, gig tickets, Richard Russell’s book, Maharishi x Everything Is Recorded t shirt, lots of t shirts, embroidered patches, stickers, tote bags, test pressings, Japanese exclusives, a goodie bag of ROMY merch, 100£ voucher for the Be With online store, a Heavenly cap, litho prints and signed Batty Bass prints, the ILM Christmas Raffle in support of Crisis is nothing short of a tinsel wrapped smorgasbord of rare and special items.

ILM takeover of Tim’s Twitter Listening Party

Charlatans frontman, author, label boss and friend of ILM, Tim Burgess has been capturing the imagination of Twitter and delighting music fans with Tim’s Twitter Listening Party series.  A  welcome distraction to the enduring monotony of Lockdown, Tim has been joined by the likes of Oasis, Flaming Lips, and New Order amongst many others. The premise is simple: log on to Twitter, drop the needle or click play on the album at the specified time, and enjoy live tweets from band members and a legion of fans as the record plays. It’s a heady combination.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, ILM has taken its activities online until we can safely come together once again for real world events. The ILM ‘Advent Calendar’ and Christmas Raffle for Crisis 2020 are two initiatives to help keep spirits up and the indie label community connected this season after a very uncertain year. ILM raises a toast and looks forward to seeing you all on the other side!
