The Long Road festival are today announcing a host of new names appearing at the event this summer including Villagers, Bob Harris in conversation and The Americana Music Association UK Takeover line-up feat. Kevin Daniel, Misty River, and more. Making a grand return this August for a bank holiday weekend filled with the finest array of American sights, experiences, tastes and sounds found this side of the Atlantic, they’re all arriving at Leicestershire’s stunning Stanford Hall estate between 26-28th August 2022.
Adding to a line up brimming with America’s biggest Country icons including Chris Young, The Cadillac Three, Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives, LOCASH, Drake White, Brandy Clark and more, The Long Road cements itself even further as the premiere destination for country music and Americana culture in the UK with these new line-up additions.
More broadly known to straddle the worlds of indie and folk, Irish band Villagers will make a highly-anticipated appearance at Stanford Hall estate this August bank holiday, following the release of their latest album ‘Fever Dreams’ last summer. Also taking to the stage for what is sure to be one of the most compelling slots of the weekend is legendary, award-winning radio presenter and journalist Bob Harris who will be in conversation on site at The Long Road with a multitude of stories and anecdotes from his career spanning over 50 years.
The Americana Music Association UK have also revealed the names who will be playing as part of their AMA UK Takeover at the event. Traditional bluegrass band The Vanguards, multi-instrumentalist Kevin Daniel and evocative singer-songwriter Misty River will be joined on the bill by the poetic St. Catherine’s Child, genre-hopping Dan Bettridge and a fresh, young take on country Simeon Hammond Dallas.
Elsewhere on the line-up fast-rising country upstarts Eric & Jensen, Harleymoon Kemp and Savannah Gardner will also perform after being announced today as a real range of styles from all corners of the globe come together at The Long Road in celebration of the rich history and constant evolution of the Country sound.
Alongside welcoming celebration of the finest handpicked artists, the three day camping event gathers together alternative music fans from around the UK for a joyous and immersive family friendly weekend. With so much to explore beyond the music, expect a whole world of displays and extra events to entice every kind of American muscle car and vintage motorcycle enthusiast, as well as an unbeatable array of stateside street food vendors to cater to craft beer drinkers and foodies with a taste for the famous southern hospitality.
The festival made its debut in September 2018, and now the family-and dog-friendly event takes a step forward into the August Bank Holiday weekend for the first time. Looking ahead to the summer this year, Baylen Leonard, Creative Director of The Long Road, says…
“We couldn’t be more excited for TLR22! There’s something for every music lover across our stages, from firm favourites to new discoveries, it’s all about showcasing just how broad country, americana, and roots music is. Plus now that we’ve moved to the August bank holiday, there’s even more time to enjoy the beautiful setting of Stanford Hall in the Leicestershire countryside. We can’t wait to welcome you back in August!”
The Long Road takes place between 26-28 August Bank Holiday Weekend 2022 at Stanford Hall, Leicestershire. Day tickets are currently £55 and weekend camping tickets from £160 (subject to booking fees). All tickets and payment plans available via https://www.thelongroad.com/tickets/
