Brighton based DIY band congratulations today share the second single ‘Zeitgeist’ from their upcoming EP ‘Woo Hoo’ which is set for release on 8th September via Bella Union. Similar to the band’s previous single ‘Junk’, which will also be on EP, the songs demonstrate the many sides of the band, who weave between funky and heavy, dancy and doomy, anthemic and aggressive, like no one else. “This is born out of the fact that as a band we have so many different influences” comments bassist Greg “They all show up one way or another.” Listen to ‘Zeitgeist’ now via the link below…
Greg, with guitarist Jamie, are the two principal songwriters in the band, but it’s only with the contributions of vocalist Leah and drummer James that a song crosses the finish line. “Everyone brings their own unique thing and you get a lot of influences to draw from and combine – for example, I grew up with all the classic boy 3 piece rock bands when I was a teenager, but now I’m more into Prince and MIA, and that combination bleeds into everything.”
After stretching their wings as a festival band at 2000 Trees, congratulations will appear at Y Not Festival on 30th July, before making their EU debut at Epikset in Finland on 3rd Aug. congratulations headline EP tour begins in September, tickets on sale HERE for the below dates…
