One of the fastest growing electronic music festivals in the UK, Forbidden Forest, kicked off the festival season in unique style this weekend.

An essential date on the summer party calendar, Forbidden Forest is set against the spectacular setting of Belvoir Castle, deeply immersed within the ancient woodlands, creating the ultimate canopied forest dance floor.

Celebrating a world class lineup including FISHER, Camelphat, Chris Stussy, Skepta, Hedex, Gorgon City, Hybrid Minds, Jamie Jones, Josh Baker, Marco Carola, Skream & Benga, Patrick Topping and many more genre defining DJs dropped electrifying sets all weekend.

In addition to this year’s stellar line-up, the festival site incorporated many new elements, augmented by the £1 million investment adding to the overall festival experience, including immersive production, an elevated camping experience and high-class creative production values visible across the whole site.

This year, Forbidden Forest introduced a brand-new stage, ‘Hive’, boasting jaw-dropping sets from Max Dean, Luke Dean, Obskur and East End Dubs closing the show on Saturday night with an infectious, tech house set that had the crowd two stepping until showdown.

The festival’s other stage structures had also had glow ups since the 2024 event including ‘Reactor 2.0’ which welcomed home the heroic return of DnB big hitters Wilkinson, Hybrid Minds, Hedex and Bou with all performances bolstered by the newly installed K1 sound system from sonic innovators, L Acoustics.

James Cohen, the promoter, said: “Our audience spoke and we listened. Forbidden Forest 2025 saw site improvements across the board – from upgraded sound systems and enhanced lighting to better accessibility and improved recycling facilities. We look forward to continuing to raise the bar for our festival goers and invite them back for another unforgettable year in 2026”.

As The Forest sleeps for another year, it’s safe to say everyone left feeling hyped for the festival season to kick off in full force. For those that missed this year’s edition, we invite you to join us for our return to The Forest next year. A magical place where we unite to celebrate our love of music, nature and dance.
