grandson announces War Child benefit show in London on June 23rd
Having made a ferocious start to a new era with the single ‘BRAINROT’, grandson now gathers pace with the news that he will play a show at The Lower Third in London on June 23rd in support of War Child. It comes after his recent sold-out show at El Cid in Los Angeles, which benefited the Los Angeles LGBT Center.
The show in support of War Child comes ahead of his headline set on Glastonbury’s Left Field Stage on June 29th – the festival’s focal point for activism and political debate.
Tickets for The Lower Third show will go on sale here from 10am this Thursday, June 12th.
grandson fans also have the chance to get their hands on a pair of tickets to the show for just £10 by entering the War Child prize draw HERE. Proceeds from the prize draws will go directly to War Child and its work supporting children in conflict zones globally. Supporters can enter as many times as they wish between June 10th and June 19th, for a better chance of securing tickets and to help War Child bring hope to children in some of the world’s most dangerous and hardest-to-reach places.
grandson, real name Jordan Benjamin, says, “Modern rock and roll that stands for something that lives and breathes across the pond. I’m excited to bring these resistance sounds back to London, and there’s no better way to do it than a benefit show for War Child. Let’s raise thousands of pounds for a nonprofit in opposition to the modern war machine burning through Gaza and beyond, and raise hell while we do it.”
Already an artist admired for both his searing social commentary and heart-breaking true life stories, grandson is going darker, harder and more uncompromising than ever before as he prepares to release his third full-length album ‘INERTIA’ on September 5th. The record’s dominating theme is a call for a class solidarity to counter the celebritisation of billionaires. It’s a message which counters the talking points of the day: from the assault on queer rights to the unmasking of modern fascism and misogyny preying on masculinity, through to the undermining of the Palestinian solidarity movement. Those issues are set to music which pumps the heart before engaging the mind: colossal heavyweight riffs, raging, blood-vessel busting raps, soaring hooks, and the philosophy that music that fights for social justice should sound like a rallying cry.
